Life is full of seasons of change. Worship team members may decide they need to take a leave of absence or may move away. Others may stay forever and never leave the church.
Change is many times uncomfortable, but as the leader, you are responsible for not only finding new leadership but asking others to rotate off or leave the team.
When it is necessary to ask someone to leave the team, begin having conversations with them. Tell them why. Be honest. Consider asking a trusted friend to join the conversation.
You want to love them with grace AND with truth.
When asking someone to serve on a team, tell them they are there for a season. Then, every few months, talk about their commitment openly and let them know your thoughts for future leadership.
Ask God to give you discernment as you lead your team well.
